Story
"Laut" means sea. Just like Marina - Hester's third name.
The sea has always been part of her story. And now, it is part of her Studio.
Hester comes from a lineage of Indonesian women, whose journey crossed the ocean to the Netherlands, carrying with them a deep sense of craftsmanship, beauty and resilience.
Those roots continue to live on in Studio Laut, in the colours, the materials, the intuitive creative process and the appreciation for pieces made slowly and with care.
Inspired by the flow of the ocean and guided by intuition, Hester creates one-of-a-kind gemstone jewellery designed to be worn, treasured and passed on, from one generation to the next.
Hester lives in Amsterdam with her partner, Sjoerd, and their son, Kick.
Unsurprisingly, their home is by the water.
